‘The Crown’ Season 4 Trailer

Ya’ll… The trailer for the fourth season of The Crown has arrived and I have so many F**** to give!

Since watching the excellent quality of the first season I have been looking forward to their vision for the Diana years. After four years of waiting we are finally here!

The trailer recognizes what the centerpiece of the season will be; we set the stage with Robert Runcie, the archbishop of Canterbury, giving his words on the day of Diana and Charles’ wedding day back in 1981. Yet, instead of the joyous energy around that day in July, we have the benefit of time and context to set a different tone! The music is ominous and we see Diana (Emma Corrin) walking into the setting of the royal family. Though this story has been told many times before, in different formats, this is the first time we are getting it as part of a larger collective. Rather then stepping into this castle with Diana as our inception to the story it’s more like she’s joining us as we’ve already gotten to know eveyone else attending.

How the show will depict the events between herself and Charles, as well as the rest of the family, will be done with us having more context into the lives of these individuals. I really think it has the chance to be something spectacular.

We also have our first official look at Gillian Anderson taking on the role of Margaret Thatcher. I will confess, I don’t know anything about this woman. I never saw the Iron Lady. I am just looking forward to learning more about who this woman was and, of course, will not allow a drama television series to be the only source for information. I am hoping it will, in true Crown fashion, provide enough bread crumbs to get us started on our research.

The Crown season 4 arrives on Netflix November 15.
