Could Cal and Cere Appear in ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Series?

I’m still not off the euphoria that Mandalorian season 2 put us in; hence my ongoing stream of articles focused around the developing Star Wars Universe.

As characters make the switch to live-action, and others take on their own solo series, my thoughts have begun to linger over to our beloved video game characters as well…

2019’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was no doubt a critical and fan success. We have since been confirmed that the story from that game is indeed canon within the Star Wars continuity. Now, besides lending their voices to their respective roles Cameron Monaghan (Cal Kestis) and Debra Wilson (Cere Junda) also lended their likeness to their video game fictional counterparts.

Fallen Order takes place five years after the events of Episode III. This means the stories of some upcoming Disney+ original shows are not too far in the distance…

Obi-Wan Kenobi will be set eight years since Revenge of the Sith making it just three years after Fallen Order. I know it’s alot of time jumping but bare with me! Cal Kestis, if still alive, will be about twenty years of age at the time of this show.

We still don’t know exactly what we can expect from the Kenobi series except some safe to assume cameos (Yoda, Qui-Gon Jinn, Darth Vader, and maybe flashbacks of Padme). It might not be entirely out of the question for Cal and his friends to cross paths with Obi-Wan in the upcoming series.

I believe Cere and Cal’s history as traumatized Jedi aligns with what Obi-Wan is experiencing at this time. They have all lost so much and it could be an excellent way to see those characters connect and have that juxtaposition between them.

A challenge for this series, from the outside looking in, is how to create a dramatic story for this character when when know his fate and he is supposed to be living in isolation for the most part. Could our Fallen Order crew happen to find Obi-Wan on Tatooine? They concluded their game deciding not to go after the force sensitive children by why not try and find those that are established Jedi still alive? Seems like a reasonable thing to be doing…

It’s also worth mentioning, as the series is confirmed to have Vader, that all of these characters have faced off against the villain! This is yet another factor that can bind them together! Look, what really gives me a glimmer of hope is the fact that Forest Whitaker’s Saw Gerrera has appeared in film, video game, AND animated television. Why not these guys?!

Time will tell but it seems like a very easy and very hype idea to have Cal and Cere crossover into the live-action world. Plus, I’m a huge Shameless fan and was a maniac fan of Debra Wilson back in her MadTV days so the idea of both of them holding lightsabers on Disney+? May the Force be with them!
